CSHA Board Meetings: 1st Thursdays

The Chester Shade Historical Association has our MONTHLY board meetings on the 1st Thursday of each month (with occasional exceptions for conflicts).  All current, past and prospective members, or anyone just curious as to what we are about are welcome.  The meetings take place on the 2nd Floor of the Chester Academy.  Come join us!  (Google Map link)


CSHA Dinner & Auction Fundraiser: new Date! - Friday, April 25th @ 6:30pm -

POSTPONED DUE TO FLOODING! The event has been moved from April 04 to Fri April 25. Stay safe everyone!


Our main fundraiser of the year takes place at the Dinner and Auction.  A fun time  with good food and lots of fun and laughter.  Many great items to bid on donated by businesses and individuals around the county!  Come join us at the Syracuse Community Center:  2244 7th Street, Syracuse, OH  (Google  Map)

CSHA Community Yard Sale: Saturday, June 7th from 9:00am - 2:00pm

Join us for our Community Yard Sale on the Chester Commons!  Lots of great items to choose from to help support the museum.

You can arrange to have a table yourself, if you like - for a modest fee of $10, you can have your own spot to sell from!  Call (740) 985-9822 to reserve space.  It's for a great cause!  (Google Maps)



Chester Shade Heritage Festival: Saturday, September 6 from 9am - 3pm

Join us for a day filled with demonstrations, activities, storytelling and events for young and old.   Reenactors will demonstrate and tell stories of our history in this area.  Wagon rides and game for the kids.  Challenges for the adults.  Come join us on the Chester Commons as we fulfill our charge to keep our history alive - in a fun, informative way!   (map link provided)

CSHA Genealogy fair: Saturday, SeptEMBER 13 from 10am - 1pm

Experts will be onsite holding training sessions and to guide you through the process of researching your family genealogy and history.  Take advantage of the abundance of resources in the CSHA Genealogy Resource Center.  If you interested in genealogy, this is the event for YOU!  The event will take place in the Chester Academy, 46454 OH-248 in Chester, OH.  (map link provided)

CSHA Winter open house: Saturday, december 6th from 10am - 2pm

Join us for our Annual Winter Open House.  See the old-fashioned Courthouse Christmas Tree, enjoy refreshments, music and visitation.  (Entertainment to be announced).  This is a true, community tradition.
